What Should I Know About an International Assignment Before I Go?

What's does it cover?

It covers each of the three stages of an international assignment and highlights the positive and negative aspects of taking an international assignment.

It covers:

  • Immigration
  • Compensation (including international taxation, global living expenses, and ways of calculating compensation)
  • Relocation
  • Benefits (including health care, schooling, housing, an other relocation costs)
  • International banking (including global and local accounts, and exchange rates)

Who should attend?

This course is designed for people (and their partners) taking an international assignment. It is also useful for human resource people who are managing the international assignment process.

 

What are the learning outcomes?

Once you have completed the course, you will know how to:
  • Define an international assignment and its elements
  • Differentiate between the role of HR and senior management
  • Understand the assignee's role in an international assignment
  • Apply the Expatriate Life Cycle Model to manage their career
  • Identify their needs as an expatriate
  • Produce a list of benefits needed for an international assignment
  • Negotiate compensation for an assignment based on different ways of calculating compensation.

The course starts at 9.30 a.m. (GMT) and ends at 4.00 p.m. (GMT).
The format of the course :

  1. Morning Session 1
  2. Break
  3. Morning Session 2
  4. Lunch
  5. Afternoon Session 1
  6. Break
  7. Afternoon Session 2

Global attendees: If you have more than one employee in different times zones who want to take the course at the same time, the time and date can be reorganised. We can also organise to break the training into 2 days to cover large differences in time zones

 

How much is the course?

The course is:

  • 600 GBP (600 Euro, 600 USD)
  • 300 GBP (Small Business Rate)

Addition of Trailing Partner: 100 GBP
